Airspace germany effective from the 13th of march 2008
« on: March 12, 2008, 02:54:01 pm »
The new german airspace, effective from the 13th of March 2008 you find attached to this post.

If you want to use my Open-Airspace file for programs which are not made by the SeeYou-team please use the file: "OpenAir_....."
The "SeeYou_...." file is usable for SeeYou and SeeYou mobile only.

Attention:
I´ve added a lot of glidersectors all over germany, which can be used by local clubs only. So if you see a line or a sector which do you not see on your map -> stay clear of this area.

Any hints on mistakes etc. are highly welcome

Happy gliding in 2008

Pete

Hi pete,

thank you for sharing the airspace file.
I have noticed that in your file the CTR around Friedrichshafen has still the old shape. To my knowledge, this area is now a rectangle and reaches well into Switzerland.

Hi Supagirl,

do you have any official information of the new coordinates of the EDNY-CTR?

Thanks in advance

Pete

Hi Pete,

sorry for my late reply.
I have searched the web for the new coordinates of EDNY-CTR, however, I found nothing.
The new shape can be seen in ICAO map edition 2008 47/6.
I have noticed you have provided a newer version of the airspace file. Thanks again.
Could it be, that in EDDS the shape of airspace D 4500 feet should be cut out by airspace C 3500 and airspace D 5500? It seems to me as it would be an overlay, which would not be  correct. However, maybe I am wrong.

Kind regards,
S.

Hi Supagirl,

do you have any official information of the new coordinates of the EDNY-CTR?

Thanks in advance

Pete

Perhaps the new coördinates are in the DFS-file?

EDRZ sector Pirmasens - is this really a class D airspace?

sector Pirmasens in the CTR of EDRZ is class D (CTR). This sector is valid, when the EDRZ CTR is closed due to military requirements (Polygone)

and here comes the second update for the airspace file valid since the 13th of march 2008.
I have incorporated several hints from user of this forum.

Any further hints on mistakes are welcome

Pete

P.S. The file CU_ED.... is for Seeyou use, the file starting with OpenAir.... for all user programs

Hi
I was planning to visit Germany soon and have not yet been able to purchase the latest airspace charts. However, when I loaded your airspace data and compared it with last years, I noticed some changes to Glider sectors around Nurnberg.(I think one is called Seckendorf)  These look like drawing errors ?

Without charts I have now way of checking ? have there been any airspace changes around Nurnberg for 2008 ?

Many thanks
Ian

DFS has made German ICAO VFR charts available on-line:

http://www.dfs-vfrebulletin.de/web20/index.htm

Select "ICAO Karten 2008" on the right.

Thank you, this is very helpful

One other question, do they publish the glider sectors online, I have looked for it but cannot find it. On the last chart I have, this was published separately in the margin above the map symbol key.

Thanks again

Ian

Hi Ian,

there are no changes between 2007 and 2008 in the Nuremberg-area.
But I have incorporated a lot of glider sectors which are only for local club use. For example all of the Seckendorf sectors.
So please use only the sectors which you have on your ICAO-map. Since two years the DFS also provides a special ICAO-map for gliederpilots. All heights in feet and metre, all glidersectors (in yellow) and all airfields with glider operations in yellow and the glidersites with the landing direction.

Its all very clear now, the on-line airspace data is very useful and answered all my questions.
