The standard rule in Namibia is that you are in controlled airspace as soon as you surpass FL 145. In the areas below that, there are many small and large danger areas, no-flight areas, TMAs and CTRs. Those are documented in the OpenAir file downloadable from John Leibacher's Turnpoint Exchange (soaringweb.org) under Turnpoint Exchange, Africa, Bitterwasser, Special Use Airspace.

Up to now, the layout of the gliding zone active during Namibian summer (November 1 - January 31st) changed a bit every year. Thus, I advise all fellow SeeYou users to check for the current season's layout at either soaringweb.org, or, www.bitterwasser.com, in October at the earliest. For the last few years, I created an overview sheet and had it published by John on soaringweb.org, as well as on the Bitterwasser website.

Yours truly
Peter Hochstrasser
