Title: Oudie Blue tooth
Post by: arie on July 06, 2010, 12:33:24 am
Hi,

I am trying to get my oudie to accept a com stream via bluetooth and am unable to get it to work.

I have setup my ipac running the seeyou mobile demo to work this way. I have a bluetooth dongle and am getting condor flight sim to send the data on com 3 and have setup the ipac to accept this and it all works.

The problem i think comes from how windows sees the oudie as the ipac is setup as a pocket_pc which sets up drivers for the com ports however windows sees the oudi as a bluetooth headset and I am unable to change this. I am running windows 7. Also when I pair the oudie the pc says it worked but the oudie using seeyou doesn't.

Is there a way to open the bluetooth for the device out of seeyou? this may help the pairing and allow other options.

regards,
Arie

Hi Arie,

you should attempt to connect from the other direction. Setup Bluetooth on your PC just like you did for the iPaq (send stream to your Bluetiooth Serial Port on PC).

Then
1. run Oudie,
2. go to Menu > Settings > Input > Bluetooth
3. press Lookup on Oudie (only devices with SPP protocol are displayed)
4. Select the device you would like to connect to
5. Press "Pair..."
6. enter the PIN of the device you are connecting to
7. connection should be established on COM 5 (make sure the Baude rate is correct)

Hi,

I have tried this many times and still get the same problem. On the PC side it tells me it is set-up ok but as a bluetooth headset. On the oudie side I get a message "mSeeyou filed to create a bluetooth port". The problem I think is due to win 7 thinking it is a headset so no need to set up a comm port so none are available.

It sounds like you are trying to connect from PC to Oudie first. Please make sure that you are NOT connected to Oudie before you start the procedure above.

Which devices are discovered when Oudie searches for devices?

The procedure above has been updated.

Are you sure that your PC is making SPP protocol visible to external devices? Otherwise Oudie will not list your PC as one of the devices which can be connected.

Hi,

I am using the oudie to set the connection from the seeyou mobile input setting screen as I can't get it to happen any other way. Below is what I am doing.

1. make sure pc is set to allow bluetooth devices to find it.
2. in seeyou M menu > setting > Input > bluetooth press lookup to show devices, then select my pc, then press pair. Now I get the Enter PIN screen which at this time I do not know so enter 1234 as a pin and ok.
3. Now my pc has a message device is trying to connect so I open the box and enter a pin of 1234 note at this stage my PC thinks it is connecting to a headset. On the PC side I get a message that the device has been added successfully but on the Oudi I get a message box with " Failed to create bluetooth port.

As a side note a friend of mine is having the same problem with a XP pc.

PS we would both like to get this working as using Condor as a input is a great and safe way to learn to use and get the most out of the Oudie.

Also is there any reason why the operating system area is locked off as this would make sorting this sort of problem a lot simpler.

regards,
Arie

Hi,

It would also be nice to get this working so I can use bluetooth to transfer my igc files to my PC so I can upload them to the OLC. IF the system wasn't loked down I am sure we could sort this out.

Arie

I'm getting exactly the same problem, I'm running XP, although XP thinks Oudie is an Audio Device on mine.  Oudie just keeps saying failed to create bluetooth port
