No GPS reception with MYPal ASUS 600+Destinator3 GPS Mouse

I bought an ASUS 600 Pocket PC toghether with the Destinator3 software and GPS Mouse (SIRF chip). Destinator runs without problems but with CUM I do not get any GPS signal or connection.
Who can help to find the accurate settings for connecting the GPS mouse ?

Hi Dietmar,

1. Make sure that the Destinator 3 software is not running. Only one application can use the COM port at the same time. Make a soft reset to make sure of that.

2. Make sure you have the correct cables to connect GPS Mouse to PDA. You may need a gender-changer to connect the PDA and the GPS Mouse.

3. Go under Menu > Settings > Hardware > Terminal. See if you receive any sentences from the GPS. If you do, all is well with the connection between PDA and the GPS.

If you don't, you need to find the right Port Settings. If it is connected to the port at the bottom of the PDA it will use the COM 1, you might have to guess the baude rate, but make sure you start with the default COM 1, 4800, 8, None, 1 settings under Port Settings in the Menu > Settings > Hardware dialog.
