Go here, get Winfast Navigator and load to pda, a great tool (free) for making sure the GPS works before you try other software which uses the GPS.

http://www.routeplanners.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=449

Try COM1: 4800 first (my 2215 is COM1 4800 with Globalsat BC-307 CF GPS)
be sure it is set to NMEA mode, *not* SIRF mode

In SeeYou Mobile go to Menu > Settings > Hardware > Terminal.

If you see readable data there (like $GPRMB,123,4234...) then it is in NMEA mode and all of your Port settings are OK.

If you see blank squares and other unreadable characters, it is in SIRF mode, but Port settings are again correct.

If you see nothing at all then your Port settings or wiring is incorrect, the PDA is not receiving data through its COM port.

Had the same problem with a BT gps and managed to change using TOMTOM car navigation software. I also think that the free WinFast Navigator program (see http://www.routeplanners.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=449) for PDAs will do it as well. Some gps units will revert to factory settings if left to completely discharge and then left for another 2 days before recharging.

Hello,

I have the same problem as Ventusa

I am using Winfast on NMEA mode and readable data appear on Winfast

But nothing on mSeeYou. It is on correct port (COM 7). And using "settings, hardware, terminal, the windows is blank !

What to check ?

Many thanks

Gramond,

first you need to make sure that Winfast is not running. Soft reset the iPaq, then restart just SeeYou, nothing else. Then setup the Port settings correctly and it should work well.

Just in case your GPS is in SIRF instead of NMEA mode, you should use the tools from the manufacturer to put it in NMEA mode.
