Hi All,
I fixed the problem in VISTA with the help of a poster named Uli.
Here's what you have to do for VISTA:
1.Right click on the desktop, choose Graphics Properties, then Information and note the Graphics Accelerator Type (mine was Intel 946GZ) and the Device Version (mine was 7.14.10.1129). (write these down from your own machine)
You'll also need to know which version of VISTA you are running (mine is 32 bit).
2. In the same window there is a tab at the top labelled 'Support'. Choose this and then choose 'Graphics Drivers Downloads' which takes you to:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx3. On this page, the first download listed when I arrived was called:
'1. INF Update Utility - Primarily for Intel® 900 Series Chipsets
This utility installs INF files that inform the operating system how to properly configure the chipset for specific functionality such as USB and AGP. '
choose this.
4. On the new page, skip the unhelpful info at the top. near the bottom is a list of the different accelerator types. Choose the one you have.
5. When I chose my 946GX Express Chipset Family, I was taken to a new page which showed download files and the one I needed:
'1. Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows Vista * 32 (exe) (16265KB) 15.6 9/2/2007 Download
Installs graphics driver version 15.6 for the integrated graphics controller of Intel® chipsets '
6. I obviously downloaded this file to my hard drive and ran it.
7. When it stopped loading I rebooted (hard boot) and found my device driver name had been changed to:
'7.14.10.1322'
8. I started See You and under 'Tools/Options/Flight/3D view' I cranked Texture Size and Terrain Quality to the highest available values in the drop downs and loaded one of my own flights and a flight from the Pre-Worlds at Rietti.
9. That's all she wrote, everything works again!
Good Luck
Regards,
