CTR Drewitz
« on: April 30, 2008, 11:56:28 pm »
Hi there,

I have installed the new version SY 3.81 and am wondering about the German/Polish border region near Guben (Gubin) and Cottbus-Drewitz airport.

Could you please check why there is a Class D CTR Drewitz (762m/FL 85) on the Polish side that reaches into Germany over Gubin and further south-west?

Cottbus-Drewitz airport has only a Class F airspace (at least in Germany), not a Class D CTR. I can't imagine that Poland imposes a Class D CTR for an airport that is in Germany.

We fly regularly in that region along the border, so that it is very disturbing if the PDA continues to tell us that we fly in forbidden airspace while it isn't.

Thank you very much
Natalie

Hi,

same problem/mistake in the 2011 airspace.exe von the seeyou website.

And please be so kind and doublecheck if on the polish side of the border is really a class C airspace from 2500ft until FL85. I cannot imagine that for a class F aiprort in germany a TMA with class C airspace is established on polish territory.
And please, do all of us a favour and delete the airspace around Cottbus-Drewitz from the polish file. The airspace (class F) is part of the german airspace file.

Thank you for your cooperation

Pete

That's true, delegated Drewitz airspace is Class E and F only.

Unfortunately, due complex types of military airspace in Poland, classes in polish airspace file are not mapped to the real classes. Following coding is used:

Quote
Class A: FIR WARSZAWA
Class B: ATZ
Class C: TMA
Class D: MATZ
Class E: MRT
Class F: TFR
Control Zone: CTR
Glider Area: TSA
Airway: FIS
Other: TRA

This unfortunately makes polish airspace incompatible with neighbourhood airspaces.
