Installing on Navigon devices
« on: February 11, 2009, 10:05:22 pm »
Navigon devices may well be the one device to get if you need both car and gliding software running on the same device. Navigon's car navigation is superb and the devices are well capable of running SeeYou Mobile.

Installation does have a little trick with the power cable though:
. extract the contents of the ZIP to the root of the SD Card
. make sure that the device is NOT connected to external power
. put the SD Card (or Micro SD Card for some devices) into the slot
. soft reset the device
. once SeeYou Mobile has started loading it is safe to connect it to external power again

Due to the powering anomaly it may be difficult to start SeeYou Mobile with an empty battery. If this happens charge the device for a few minutes, then repeat the procedure above.

With my Navignon 2110 max there is no problem with starting up with the power cable connected.

I have a Navigon 7200T
ActiveSync doesn't recognize this device.
ConnectMe doesn't work either.
I have two Micro SD cards: One with Navigon Auto and one with SeeYou Mobile.
To load the SeeYou Mobile I connect the Navigon to my computer and then do a soft boot. The device comes up as Drive H.  Then I can drag and drop files to the device.  This is a pain but I have succeeded in making it work with my local CIT maps and an old .icg file.
Questions:  1) The DAFIF text file is loaded but doesn't seem to work.  2)  My DA4 file from the Colibri Logger was loaded but doesn't work. Since then I've loaded another .cup file and it works. I can edit this as required but does anyone know how to load a DA4 file and make it work?  3) My main question is the SeeYou Mobile files include "Go Drive"  and "Go Fly" files.  This indicates that you can have both Navigon and SeeYou Mobile loaded at the same time.  How can this be done?

1) DAFIF file is not supported.

2) You can use DA4 files in SeeYou Mobile. Select them under Menu > Settings > Files > Waypoints. But it is reccomended that you use CUP file type.

3) GoFly and GoDrive folders are for Bendix King AV8OR. They have no effect for Navigon devices. You can NOT have both programs on the same SD Card on Navigon.

Hi,

As a gift of a friend helping him with his glider i got CU mobile for PNA. I have in my posession the key code and got to work.
I unpacked the zip cu mob. on the sd micro card and followed the instructions on your site.
But !! it does not work.

The device is a navigon 7210 with a micro sd card
The message on the device is that it can't start "the nav program and needs a restart by pushing the start button en reset button symoultaniously. by doing so the same message reappears every time. an nothing else happens.

Questions : what is the "root" of the sd card ?

And what do i do wrong? The program is unpacked on a 1 gb sd card only for CU Mob.

Please help before i throw the lot in the skip.

Yours,

Charles Munnig Schmidt

p.s. I have already for many years cu mob on a pda, works alright, only these things are badly readeble in the sunshine.

The problem you report happens to me if i restart the device without a micro SDCard in the reader.
Verify if the files where properly unpacked.
See also if you can read the files via your PC using a storage card reader.
You card may be defective
Bart.

I just borrowed a Navigon 4310 Max and installed CU on the SD-card.
COM2 Baudrate 57600 works fine.

But I can't rotate the screen orientation to portrait. In the UI-tab the radio-buttons for 90, 180 and 270 are disabled.

Can it be that I have to register before I can use this option? (Momentarily I just want to try it out before changing from my trusted and proven licenced PDA-version to the cutting edge of technology!).

Thanks for the help,
Hans

Unfortunately not. If they are disabled, then the device can not rotate the screen.

Oh no! I have just bought a Navigon 4350max and similarly the "other" orientation buttons are greyed out. So, I'm stuck with landscape. Not the end of the world, but not ideal.

Andrej, is there ever likely to be a workaround?

navigon 2110 max
« Reply #10 on: September 29, 2009, 10:15:12 am »
After some time experimenting with Navigon 2110 max I foudn the following:
SeeYouM runs smootly on the 2110 max.
Recnently I discovered a anomally with the battery. With SeeyouM loaded the battery life was less than 1/2 hour. With the charger connected it took very long before the 2110 max could be switched on again.   I assumed that the battery was on the end of its life. I tested a little bit more and with the Navigon navigation software the battery problem  as mentioned before did not appear.

It seems that the 2110 max with SeeyouM (versieon 3.12) loaded is surging the battery in a very short time. The 2110 max is about 9 month old and not used frequently.
Andrej can you give advice to solde the problem.

regards,

Theo Hagenberg

It appeared that the the display did not work correctly. Recently the display ahs been replaced by Navigon and the 2110 is working with SeeYouM as it should

That's news to us. We don't see how we could be draining the battery other than that the backlight is always on full power?

I have a 2120 Max -- basically the same as a 2110 Max, comes with different maps.
My battery has lasted over 3.5 hours at full backlight before I get the "low battery warning" at 30% capacity remaining.

Has anyone figured out how to connect one of these to advanced varios using the USB connection?

Hi
Doies anyone have any updated news on the Navigon 4310 Max or 4350 max?  In particular, the ability to rotate See You Mobile into portrait mode. Has anyone else tried this since the previous posts above? Has anyone developed a workaround?
Thanks
Paul
