 Hello

Is it possible to upload tasks set in SeeYou mobile running on a Mio P350 to an EW MicroRecorder?

Both the SeeYou mobile and EW literature suggest that this is possible via SeeMobile proper or ConnectMe and the upload button.
Reassuringly, the Task window in SeeYou mobile offers the MicroRecorder as one of the devices but nothing happens when the two devices are connected via a USB cable.

Should I use a serial cable?
But that would require a cable or cable/adapter combination RJ45/mini-USB...

Both the MicroRecorder and the Mio PDA connect well via USB to my laptop running Vista.

The great advantage of being able to do this is the possibility to declare a task into the MicroRecorder after it has been entered in SeeYou mobile which does away with the need of having a computer at all.

Many thanks
Daniel

Currently SeeYou Mobile / ConnectMe support only serial connection to EW MicroRecorder. I've already posted a similar request here, but Andrej has not confirmed if it will get onto his TODO list.

Anyway, I'd suggest you to get a serial cable anyway, because EW will not log anything if it's connected via USB during the flight. It also won't give you NMEA (GPS) data over USB cable.

Many thanks Wojtus

My MSeeYou and the MicroRecorder work independently in flight so I don't need NMEA data (the Mio has in-built GPS facility).

Normally I don't use a computer to register the task, I put it on my map, then add it to SeeYou mobile, then fly.
I would like to be able to upload my tasks to the MicroRecorder from my PDA before taking off.

So, with using the serial socket on the MicroRecorder I would need an RJ45 but the other end would have to be a USB (mini USB preferably) plug.

Can this be done in your opinion?

Regards

Daniel

I'm not familiar with Mio P350, so I can't tell you for sure. I've just made a quick look on Mio's website and looks line P350 has no built-in serial port. The bad news is, there's also no "serial adapter" on the official accesories list. Maybe there are some third-party products for this, you have to look for them. Just remember, typical USB-Serial adapters designed for PCs probably won't work here.
