Hi all,

I had used SeeYou Mobile for PDA succesfully for a year now and just bought a Navigon 8310 some days ago, mainly for Car Navigation and to retire my old PDA Device in the cockpit.

The 8310 is a great device and it is working so far with Seeyou Mobile but now I have some problems/questions (until now I use the unregistered PNA-Version, I just want to upgrade in the next few days...):

There is no "Windows shell" available after SD-Card changing (+ reset) to Seeyou Mobile so...

1. I found no possibility to adjust the sound level of the device or to mute it. (There where funny reactions from passengers in the tram today when the "airspace" warning shouts full level through the waggon...(the 8310 has a strong loudspeaker!)  ;-))

2. I found nothing to adjust the backlight of the display. Seems to be allways on "full power" (?) = max Battery drain. (Fortunately the passengers were not disturbed by this... ;-) )

3. I found no Navbox or something similar to display the battery status. But there seems to be a Battery low warning (15%) over Loudspeaker and Display (Passengers where not amused and maybe they hoped the device now finally would shut down and there is silence... ;-)))

4. The 8310 with car-navigation-software running has a strange "Shut off - Philosophie" in the current Navigon 7 version (to fully shutt off the device you have to press the On/Off Button and at the same time you have to press the reset button in a little hole with the stylus.) Is this the same with Seeyou mobile for PNA? Or does the system fully shut off (with no battery drain) by simply pressing the On/Off button?

5. Is it possible to use (programm) the 4 buttons at the side of the 8310 in SeeYo Mobile for PNA? There are two level control buttons on the right, a mute button on the left and a "back" button on the left, but they dont seem to work with Seeyou Mobile.

6. Is there a special manual available for the PNA Version?

Any help is most appreciated...

Greetings

Heli

Hi there,

this are really interesting questions, I am using an 2110max and I am also looking for a way to adjust the speaker volume for the different warnings SeeYou sends out.

Is there any adjustment menu for the speaker volume, and of course the backlight settings as heli asked??

Hi Bigchris, hi Andrej,

today I found the solution for point one, the sound adjustment, by myself:

In "Menu", "Mc & Alt." there is a field "volume". This is set to "100"  by default and means "full Volume". Adjust it to any number between 0 (mute) and 100 (full power) and the sounds are adjusted to this level.

Again my question to Andrej:  Is there a special manual available for the PNA Version? Or just a help file with the added or different points of the PNA Version?

My remaining questions are:

1. Backlight adjustment?
2. Permanent display of battery status?
3. Use of Buttons of the PNA
4. Shut off "Philosophie" of the 8310 with SeeYou Mobile (Is "off" really "off" or just "standby"? It seems to be "off" - but I am not really shure)

Greetings

Heli

Unfortunately the manual has not been updated to version 3.1. The PNA version in features is otherwise exactly the same as PDA version.

Your other questions:
1. We don't know how to do this on all devices, it is therefore not (yet) implemented
2. Is warning not enough? The warnings are pretty early.
3. See #1
4. Off = Sleep. When you turn it back on you are back in SeeYou Mobile where you were before.

Thank you Andrej that you have clarified these points so I don“t have to work it out by myself. Seems not to be so easy to handle the OPS of the PNA in a way that works with all devices...

But anyway you did a great job in transfering all funktions to the PNA. I will test it in the next days inflight. On the ground it seems to be very stable so far - and very similar to the PDA Version - with bigger display and better readability!

Thanks a lot

Greetings Heli

Hi Andrej,

I tested with my Navigon 4310max with car navigation software what the impact of the screen backlight is on battery performance. It turns out that with the backlight set to a low level (30%) the battery operating time more than doubles.
This suggests that if it was possible to adjust the backlight in SeeYouM it is possible to fly much longer without using an external way of powering the device. Very useful if you fly planes that are not your own...
Therefore my question: is there a possibility to add a backlight setting to the software? Or is there another solution to set it (for example a small piece of software that runs at startup and sets the level and after that starts SeeYouM)?

Regards,
Guido
