HP 314 Switches off during flight
« on: June 07, 2010, 11:53:54 am »
I have an HP 314 that keeps switching off after about 2 hours of flight. Sometimes I get a low power warning, othertimes not. I use a seperate battery pack to charge the HP via the USB connection during flight and there is always lots of charge left inthe battery pack. I have also guessed that maybe the HP gets too hot from direct sunlight, but even when I keep it in a side pocket, this still happens with EVERY flight. Any suggestions on what the problem could be ? Thanks

Does it also happen at home on the desk?

I Think I Know what the problem is. I experiance the same. You only can use the original usb cable from HP. Others just don't work !

I too had the very same problem. Using USB cable and pugging into on board power in your glider via USB plug.
Solution - you need to use the cigarette lighter plug supplied with the HP. Change your USB power socket in your glider to a cigarette lighter socket and problem solved.
There is some electronic smarts in the HP cigarette plug that controls the degree of charge.
